Get to Know the Glassboro Library
If you love books and much more then you definitely need to be spending some time at the Glassboro Library. The Glassboro Library is part of the Gloucester County Library System and they have a lot of great things to offer the Glassboro community. Here are some of the highlights of our local library.
Location and Hours
The Glassboro Library is located at 2 Center Street in Glassboro.
The library is open:
Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday – 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday – 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Sunday – Closed
How to Get a Library Card
If you don’t have your library card yet, don’t worry. You can stop by the Glassboro library to pick one up. If you are a resident of Gloucester County, please bring a photo ID and proof of residency to obtain your card. The following forms can help you do this:
- NJ Drivers License
- NJ non-driver ID
- Current municipal tax bill, utility bill or bank statement showing the individual’s name and address, and a photo ID
- Out-of-county owners of business or property located in the Glassboro community must show proof of business or property ownership and a photo ID
Checking Out Books and Other Materials
Books and other materials are available for checkout at the library. Books, magazines, CDs, CD audiobooks, and playaways can be checked out for 2 weeks. Videos are available and can be checked out for 3 days or 2 weeks depending on the title.
Glassboro Library also offers free eBooks to all Gloucester County Library System cardholders through Overdrive, Hoopla, EbscoHOST, and Gale! You can easily download these books from the comfort of your own home.
Additionally, the library also has free magazines you can read on your computer, laptop or mobile device.
Glassboro Library offers free music streaming through hoopla! Music can be downloaded via the hoopla app and listened to on most computers, laptops, or mobile devices.

Classes & Events
Each month the Glassboro library offers a wide variety of classes and events. They have storytime for children where kids can read, sing, dance and create crafts. The library offers free GED prep classes. There are Friday morning “Music Time” classes and much more. Be sure to check their calendar each month to find events that interest you. And, be sure to register when necessary to ensure that you have a reserved spot.

The Glassboro Library has a “Museum Passes” program. This program allows you to check out a museum pass which will grant free access for a certain number of visitors to a certain museum. Click here to see what museums are available with this pass.
“Book Club in a Bag” is also available. This allows you to check out 12 copies of a popular book, along with discussion questions to distribute to your book club. These bags can be checked out for up to 8 weeks.
If you need documents notarized, The Gloucester County Library System offers free notary public services. Library notaries are scheduled to work during the library’s regular hours. Customers who need the notary service should call the library prior to their visit to ensure that a notary is available. Be advised that the notary is not available 15 minutes prior to the library closing.
